Summary: | The World Bank (WB) supports the global
reporting initiative (GRI) and is one of the GRI chapter
groups of founding members. The topics deemed relevant for
disclosure were identified by assessing annual corporate
priorities outlined by the institutions’ Boards and
President, considering stakeholder input, as well as
ascertaining sustainability impacts of carrying out the
mission and vision. To determine if a GRI aspect is material
for the WB to report on, an assessment was carried out based
on: (1) the potential impact on the Bank’s business, and (2)
the sustainability impacts stemming from its business. The
most material aspects of the Bank’s internal operations
include the following: staffs are the Bank’s greatest asset;
and reducing the Bank’s own corporate environmental impacts.
The WB reports on a fiscal year basis, which extends from
July 1 through June 30. This report covers fiscal 2014 (July
1, 2013 - June 30, 2014). |
